What Coipe keeps, why, and how we look after it.

This is our promise in plain words. A formal legal version will follow. Version 2026-10-31, last changed .

In short

  • We keep as little as we can, and only to run Coipe.
  • Children never give us an email address, a photo, a birth date or a home address.
  • No ads, no selling, no marketing profiles, no third-party analytics or trackers.
  • We never send a name to an AI.
  • Coipe’s database runs on our own servers in Vietnam, and each school’s information is walled off.
  • The demo is a grown-up’s account and holds nothing about children.
  • You can see, correct, export or delete your information: write to support@ceooflittlepeople.com.

Who we are

Coipe is made by CEO of Little People (“we”, “us”). We have not registered a company yet. Until we do, these pages are the promise of the people who make Coipe, and we stand behind every word. When the company exists, its details will appear here.

For grown-ups with their own account, such as a demo account, we decide how their information is used. For schools, the school decides, and we look after its staff’s and students’ information on its behalf.

If you have a demo account

We keep:

  • your email address, to sign you in and to send the code that confirms it;
  • your password, only as a one-way hash, so nobody can read it, not even us;
  • your browser’s time zone, so the daily play limit starts again at your midnight;
  • that you agreed to the terms, which version and when;
  • whether you want news emails, and when you last chose;
  • your plays: which game and level, when, whether it was finished, the score, the hints used and how long it took.

We don’t ask your name; the account is just called “Demo player”. If a child plays with you, we know nothing about them. If you came from a shared link, we add one to a daily count for that link (such as “from a social network”); the count holds no email and no account.

News emails go only to people who ticked the box, and every one will carry a link to stop them. You can also untick the box on your demo home at any time.

If you work at a school

Your name, your email address, your password as a one-way hash, your role, the classes you teach, and the lessons and assignments you run. Some actions, such as archiving a student account or printing a login card, are recorded in an audit log that holds ids only, never names.

Students

We keep a student’s information only for their school, and only what the games and the teacher need:

  • a display name the school types (a first name or a nickname), and a username;
  • how they sign in: a 4-digit PIN or 3 of 9 pictures. Sign-in checks a one-way hash. So that their teachers can print their login card again without changing it, we also keep an encrypted copy, which only the teachers and admins of their own school can print;
  • their class, their avatar, their pet (its name is picked from set word lists), and what they earn and choose inside the games;
  • what happens while they play: which levels, results, scores, hints used and time taken, recorded as ids and numbers so the teacher can see how the child is learning.

No email address, no password, no photo, no birth date, no home address, and nothing a child types in their own words.

Who sees what

  • A student sees their own games, progress and pet, never another child’s results.
  • Teachers see the students of their classes and how they are doing, and can print their login cards. Any teacher of the school can see its list of students, to place them in a class.
  • A school’s owners and admins see everything the school holds, and can export one student’s information to hand to a family.
  • Parents: a school student’s information is not shown to parents in the app. Ask the school, which can give you a copy. If you write to us, we pass your request to the school and help it answer.
  • Our team: our admin console shows schools and the grown-ups who run them, never children. A few of us can reach the servers to keep Coipe running; we open a school’s records only to fix a problem or when the school asks.
  • Nobody else. We never sell or hand over information for marketing.

During a live lesson

While a teacher runs a lesson, the teacher’s screen shows a quiet note when a child’s Coipe tab is in the background, or when nobody has touched it for two minutes. To do that, Coipe checks only whether its own tab is visible and whether a key or the mouse was used on it, not which one. It never reads other tabs or websites, never records the screen, and never uses the camera or microphone. Only the latest state is kept, for that lesson, and it is not part of the child’s learning record; the note that it changed is deleted within two days.

One game plays a video from YouTube

Listen & Type, a listening game for schools, plays short videos in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player. The player loads only after the child taps play. From then on YouTube (Google) receives the device’s network address and the name of the Coipe site, and may store information on the device, under Google’s own privacy policy. Coipe sends YouTube nothing about the child. This is the only place a Coipe page loads anything from another company.

AI

The hints in the games are written in advance by people. Coipe has one controlled way to use AI, through our own servers, and today it is switched off. If we switch it on, it will never receive a name, and we will update this notice first.

Why we use it

  • To run your account and the games, because you asked us to under our terms of service (for a school, under its agreement with us).
  • News emails, only if you ticked the box: your consent, which you can take back at any time.
  • To keep Coipe safe and working, such as limiting how often someone can try a password or a code.

Never for advertising, for selling, or for building marketing profiles.

We work to meet Vietnam’s personal data protection law and, for anyone who lives in the European Union or the United Kingdom, the GDPR. The formal version of this notice will name the laws precisely.

Where it is kept, and who helps us

Coipe’s database runs on servers we operate ourselves, in Vietnam. It cannot be reached from the internet; only our own app talks to it.

A few kinds of providers help us run Coipe:

  • web hosting: serves Coipe’s pages, and every request to our servers passes through it. Its servers are in Singapore, so your network address and the pages you ask for pass through Singapore;
  • email: delivers the emails we send (such as the code that confirms your address) and holds our support inbox. It sees grown-ups’ email addresses and those messages, never student information;
  • domain and DNS: points coipe.app to the right servers. It sees no personal information.

Each one handles only what it needs to do its job. Write to support@ceooflittlepeople.com and we will send you the current list of providers and where they are.

How long we keep it

  • A demo account whose email address is never confirmed: deleted after 7 days. The confirmation code and its link work once, for 15 minutes.
  • A confirmed demo account: until you ask us to close it, or the demo ends. Then everything it holds is deleted within 30 days.
  • A school staff account: while the person belongs to the school, or until the school leaves Coipe.
  • A student account, with its results: until the school asks us to delete the student, or leaves Coipe. Then it is deleted within 30 days.
  • The detailed record of each step in a game: the school year it was recorded in (1 August to 31 July), plus one more year. A summary of the child’s progress stays with the student account.
  • Everything belonging to a school that leaves Coipe: deleted within 30 days.
  • An export of a school’s or a student’s information: 7 days, then deleted.
  • Emails waiting to be sent: deleted as soon as they are sent.
  • Sign-in: a grown-up stays signed in until 7 days after they last used Coipe; a student until midnight.
  • Technical logs, which can hold a device’s network address and the page it asked for, never names, answers or passwords: we are still setting how long they are kept, and will write it here.
  • Before we update Coipe, we take a copy of the database and keep it on our own servers, so a mistake can be undone. We will write here how long these copies are kept.

How we protect it

  • Everything between your device and Coipe is encrypted (HTTPS).
  • Each school’s information is walled off from every other school’s inside the database itself, not only by the app.
  • Grown-ups’ passwords are stored only as one-way hashes. Students’ PINs and pictures are checked against one-way hashes; the copy kept for printing their card is encrypted, with a key kept apart from the database.
  • Our logs never contain names, answers, passwords, PINs, sign-in codes or cookies.
  • We don’t store your network address or your browser’s details with your sign-in.
  • Only a few of our people can reach the systems, each with their own sign-in.

Your rights, and how to use them

You can ask us to:

  • show you the information we hold about you, or give you a copy to take elsewhere;
  • correct it;
  • delete it, or close your account;
  • stop using it for something, or take back a consent you gave;
  • stop sending news emails.

Write to support@ceooflittlepeople.com from your account’s email address, so we know it is you. It is free, and we answer as soon as we can. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live.

For a student, these rights go through the school, which decides about its students’ information. If a parent writes to us, we pass the request to the school and help it answer.

Children

Coipe is made for children aged 5 to 10, so we hold ourselves to a higher standard. No ads. No selling information. No profiling for marketing. No third-party analytics, trackers or outside fonts on the pages children use (the one video player above is the only exception). Children never make an account themselves.

The demo is for grown-ups (18 or over). If we learn that a child made a demo account, we delete it.

Cookies and storage on your device

Coipe uses only the cookies that keep you signed in. The page’s scripts can’t read them, and they are never used to follow you around the web. There are no advertising, analytics or tracking cookies, so there is nothing to accept or turn off.

The browser also keeps a few small things for Coipe: settings such as sound on or off, which demo levels you have opened and finished, game steps (ids and numbers only) until they reach our servers, and, while you confirm your email, the address you typed, in that tab only.

Changes to this notice

When Coipe changes what it keeps or how, we update this notice first and change the version at the top. If a change matters for you, we tell you by email or in the app.
